About Anna
Meet Anna
The woman behind the label.
The island
I was born on a small island in the Philippines, the second to last of eight children. We had very little. When I was eleven, my father passed away. That same year, I left school and took a ferry alone to Manila to work as a babysitter for another family.
Fourteen
By fourteen, I was working as a salesgirl with my sister. I learned what it meant to stand on your own feet. To want more for yourself. To work.
Sixteen
At sixteen, I started modelling. The first time I put on a bikini, something shifted. I felt beautiful. I felt strong. I knew from that moment that I wanted to create swimwear that made other women feel the way I felt that day.
Boracay
I started by reselling swimwear in Boracay. Found an investor. Began building something of my own. Then COVID stopped everything for two years.
Bali
In 2017 I moved to Bali to find the fabrics I had been dreaming about. Cuts that flatter every body. Colours that hold up to sun and salt. Sustainability that isn't a marketing line.
That's where Anna The Label was truly born.
“Anna means mine in Filipino. Every woman should feel like she owns her body.”
What we make
Every piece is designed in Bali. Cut and sewn by a small team I know by name. Made from recycled nylon and lined for real comfort. Built to last past one summer.
This is not a trust-fund brand. I built it from nothing, for women who own themselves.
With love,
Anna
